Excellent Fighting Chances

FM Canty goes into the laboratory of the concept of creating fighting chances. This is a really difficult subject these days we know because the engine just shuts down our human element in so many positions. Within this course are many attempts to break down the engine generated equality lines. I commend Canty for believing in his opening. His passion comes out here as he presents years of hard work to you in one setting. I have already reviewed a good amount of the course so I speak objectively. This is really a good attempt to get off the beaten track and create positions that have a dynamic element, avoid as many piece trades and create real problems and accumulations of small advantages. In some of the lines, like the Dutch Defense Stonewall I think there could be some more work done, but overall this is a great work. I hope others will enjoy it as much as I have.

his course really gets into the concept of fighting for the win, unlike many other courses on Chessable. The way this Jobava London is presented is that an aggressive option is available, which creates a very good way to play against both higher-rated and lower-rated players.

Absolutely solid course

I picked up this course as I was looking for a solid opening to play as white and to generally up my game. I'm probably slightly lower rated than the target audience (1050 rapid on chess.com), but I been able to easily learn from this course and bully my opponents whenever I have the white pieces.  

FM Canty absolutely kills it when it comes to explaining lines and does a really good job at explaining specific moves, as well as plans and potential blunders that your opponent could make (as well as how to ruin their day if they do).

I learned to play the basics of the london before, and wasn't a fan of my E4 positions, so I picked up this course. It is great to see this course has as alot of support from FM Canty, adding new lines it seems very frequently. To speak of the depth of the course, I am blown away how many sections there are, I feel as a Amateur player that I could be prepared for anything. He is a great practitioner of the Jobava, and his lines keep it sharp for Black. His energy and excitement for the opening is also refreshing to see, making learning more fun. This Jobava London course is very thorough, with 1000 lines, and Canty goes deep into them (maybe too deep, though!), and has excellent explanations, and covers most of the lines. If you are interested in a attacking game, with favorable chances to win, this is good. If you are interested in a calm, positional game, look somewhere else. I'd recommend Fide rating 1400 to 2000
